COMPENSATION

The salary range for this position is $99,000 - $111,000 per year.
The actual compensation will be determined based on geographic location and other job-related factors

LOCATION

This position is remote; however, the ideal candidate will be located within proximity to one of our office locations in Elk Grove Village, IL or Columbus, OH.

Estimated travel requirement is <40% of the time for manufacturer meetings, launch planning sessions, Quarterly Business Reviews, implementation working sessions, and other business engagements as needed. 

POSITION SUMMARY

This role plays a central role in the implementation and launch of new rare disease programs at Orsini. This position serves as the leader responsible for overseeing all aspects of rare disease specialty pharmacy program launches from the point of contract win through the stabilization period following a successful go-live at PDUFA. This role owns end-to-end manufacturer onboarding and implementation activities for pharmaceutical products, patient support programs, and manufacturer partnerships. 
 
The Launch & Implementation Manager serves as the primary manufacturer contact throughout implementation while partnering with internal stakeholders across Clinical Operations, Pharmacy Operations, Patient Services, Trade Relations, Information Technology, Compliance, Quality, Finance, and Data Analytics to ensure flawless, on-time, and compliant launch execution. 
 
This role is accountable for launch readiness, project governance, KPI achievement, timeline management, risk mitigation, issue escalation, operational performance, and ongoing manufacturer satisfaction. The ideal candidate brings strong specialty pharmacy operational expertise, project management rigor, client-facing experience, and the ability to lead multiple concurrent launch initiatives supporting rare disease, high-cost, complex, and newly launched specialty therapies. This position requires periodic travel for manufacturer meetings, implementation planning sessions, in-person working sessions, and other business engagements as needed. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
 

Lead and manage end-to-end implementation strategy and activities for new specialty pharmacy programs, pharmaceutical manufacturer partnerships, and product launches. 

  • Responsible for project planning, launch governance, timeline management, risk mitigation, issue escalation, and post-launch stabilization. 
  • Serve as the primary manufacturer contact during implementation, address client needs and updates, resolve issues, provide guidance and recommendations, and proactively raise risks and improvement opportunities

Facilitate launch meetings, implementation reviews, issue resolution, and stakeholder communications. 

  • Act as the primary project owner and launch subject matter expert across internal cross-functional teams. 
  • Manage multiple concurrent client implementation projects while ensuring adherence to timelines, milestones, contractual obligations, launch readiness requirements, and manufacturer expectations. 

Lead recurring cross-functional meetings. 

  • Engage Clinical Operations, Pharmacy Operations, Patient Services, Trade Relations, Information Technology, Compliance, Quality, Finance, and Data Analytics teams. 
  • Champion accountability, operational excellence, and cross-functional alignment across all workstreams. 

Develop and maintain launch documentation and operational requirements. 

  • Develop and maintain business rules, workflows, SOPs, implementation documentation, and operational requirements to support successful program launches and ongoing program management. 
  • Partner with leadership to refine and standardize implementation methodologies, tools, and best practices. 

Drive clinical and operational readiness activities. 

  • Coordinate staff training, workflow validation, process testing, launch assessments, and operational preparedness reviews. 
  • Ensure launch teams are prepared to execute program requirements at go-live. 

Coordinate specialty pharmacy, hub, REMS, cold-chain, reporting, and program deliverables. 

  • Coordinate implementation and alignment of SP/Hub Services, REMS programs, cold-chain distribution requirements, manufacturer reporting requirements, patient support services, and specialty pharmacy program deliverables. 
  • ​​​​​​​Align program deliverables with manufacturer expectations and internal operational capabilities. 

Track KPIs, implementation milestones, operational performance metrics, contractual deliverables, and reporting obligations. 

  • Monitor key launch performance indicators and timeline adherence. 
  • ​​​​​​​Support reporting obligations and operational performance visibility. 

Lead post-launch reviews and continuous improvement initiatives cross-functionally. 

  • Develop ongoing process improvement opportunities for Implementation and partner departments. 
  • ​​​​​​​Contribute feedback to drive implementation efficiency and increase standardization across launches. 
  • Perform other duties or projects as assigned.

SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
  • Strong specialty pharmacy operational understanding, including intake, enrollment, reimbursement support, dispense workflows, manufacturer trade relationships, patient services, and commercialization processes.  
  • Working knowledge of CareTend and its role in specialty pharmacy operations.  
  • Knowledge of REMS programs, cold-chain distribution requirements, specialty pharmacy reporting, and limited distribution networks.  
  • Exceptional project management, stakeholder management, communication, organizational, analytical, and executive-facing skills.  
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent implementation projects and competing priorities while proactively identifying risks, issues, and operational improvement opportunities.  
  • Experience developing operational workflows, business rules, SOPs, and implementation documentation.  
  • ​​​​​​​Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Visio., as well as familiarity with AI tools such as Claude or Copilot and project management software. 

QUALIFICATIONS

Education:  

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) Master’s degree, or Master of Business Administration (MBA) preferred

Certifications/License: 

  • Registered Pharmacist (RPh) license in good standing preferred. 
  • PMP or equivalent project management certification preferred

Experience :

  • Minimum of five (5) years of related work experience, at least four (4) years of experience in Specialty Pharmacy, Clinical Operations, or Patient Services.  
  • ​​​​​​​Demonstrated experience managing implementation projects, operational readiness initiatives, or pharmaceutical product launches. 
  • Experience supporting rare disease, high-cost therapies, biologics, gene therapies, cell therapies, or newly launched specialty pharmaceutical products preferred. Experience with Hub Services is preferred but not required.
